RA Irwin, established in 1951, is a multi-million pound textiles manufacturer based in Donaghcloney which employs 150 staff. Until 2021, the company’s approach to operating its business was fully manual. From the initial placing of orders to production of products, stock fulfilment and finance, all departments of the business were paper based. Sugar Rush was challenged with transforming RA Irwin from a traditional paper based business to a digitally accountable business by revolutionising its day to day operation.
We provided a solution to the manual operation by developing an IOS and Android mobile app integrated with a stock management system and B2B and B2C e-commerce web platforms.
The solution included a fully integrated e-commerce website, stock management app used by 100 staff to manage the seven step order / manufacturing process, stock levels, cost efficiencies and integration with Sage 500 system.
Looms manufacture materials 24/7 and previously there was no procedure for tracking their productivity levels but with the app developed by Sugar Rush, staff can now measure and manage materials efficiently so as to alleviate any downtime.
Digitally transforming the very fabric of the business.
Sugar Rush has brought the traditional business into the 21st century, embracing the technology has opened a world of opportunity for RA Irwin.
Richard Irwin, RA Irwin managing director, said that embracing the technology has opened a world of opportunity for RA Irwin and from placing an order to receiving their delivery, customers now have the information they need at their fingertips.
Digital transformation enabled RA Irwin to increase its business by 200%. The technology used to produce the internal app enabled staff to manage stock levels using barcodes and reduce stock held on site from £250,000 to £15,000.
