Stryker Medical is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies building AED devices. An App was required to provide AEDs training in all schools worldwide catering for a multilingual /multicultural audience.
In depth surveys and workshops were carried out with health professionals to ascertain a complete understanding. Our approach was ‘simple’ literally... Keeping the interface as clear and intuitive as possible to transcending cultural and language barriers as well as minmising user distraction, confusion or frustration.
Unlike other medical training apps, cluttered with technical content and instructional videos, SAM Trainer’s UI design presented information in a hybrid format as an interactive animation. Sugar Rush started from scratch, removing any extraneous text information and focusing on audio and visual communication that would be universally recognisable, understandable to any of it’s users.
In life or death situations every second counts. Our UX research indicated a need for adjustable durations for training on each product.
Still in its infancy and aimed at saving lives, We’re currently addition additional functionality to the SAM Trainer App such as enhanced navigation, additional videos and links to resources.
SAM Trainer App has been downloaded in 142 countries. It has been translated into 11 languages with more in development.
Since its launch last year, the app has continued to gain popularity and the numbers are highly positive. With continuous language upgrades also in the pipeline, every region will be covered before the end of this year.
This really is a global game-changer as education is key to saving lives.
